rating 6/10                                                     kahani 2

How could we overlook this magnificent guy called Arjun Rampal. Beyond just looking perfectly chiseled, he has indeed matured as a good actor and a brilliant artist. We must have missed Kahaani 2 for its shallow narrative so thank you Amazon for having it pop up on our recommendation engine.
Vidya Balan, who plays the female protagonist, though a good actress, seemingly doesn’t have the support of a script that is woven around a deeper character play. She ends up performing for a character which comes across superficial, but with great honesty. The thriller loses its plot.
The story has teeth but somewhere in the solemn narrative, it feels lost in its own complexities, with gaping logical loopholes, that have no answers.
Arjun Rampal excels in his taut performance, fitting into the role, with great aplomb even when the script fails his character of a police officer who believes his ex-wife’s version of a crime she is blamed for and the balancing act with his current wife.
If not for the Jugal Hansraj’s sexual assaulter avatar, Vidya Balan as a criminal on the run and Arjun Rampal as a cop in a dilemma; there is really not much else that this sequel to Kahaani holds and that is probably why the movie must have missed our attention in 2016.
If you really have to see it, see it for Arjun Rampal and Vidya Balan.
We feel Arjun Rampal’s talent is highly underutilized and hope someone will take him on for greater challenges. Streaming on @amazonprimevideo Starring :Vidya Balan , Arjun Rampal, Jugal Hansraj Directed by : Sujoy Ghosh @rampal72 @balanvidya @thejugalhansraj
