This led to a uproar in the fandom of Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma and their fanclubs protested the action by trending hashtag #Justiceformishbir. 
The fans complained that the show is giving undue attention to second leads over the main leads and is spoiling their viewing experience by focusing on alternate and disengaging story lines. The fans were complaining about dwindling time given to the main story and evading the storyline promised of a show they love and depend upon for a clean story devoid of toxic drama.
